Diovan HCT (valsartan and hydrochlorothiazide) is a combination medication primarily used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults and children (1 year and older) to lower cardiovascular risk. It combines an angiotensin receptor blocker (valsartan) and a diuretic (hydrochlorothiazide) to relax blood vessels and reduce excess water, usually when one medication alone is insufficient.
