العودة إلى الكتالوجيُستخدم دواء كريون (بانكريليباز) لعلاج قصور البنكرياس الخارجي، وهي حالة لا يُنتج فيها البنكرياس ما يكفي من الإنزيمات لهضم الطعام، وغالبًا ما يكون سببها التليف الكيسي أو التهاب البنكرياس المزمن أو استئصال البنكرياس. ويعمل هذا الدواء عن طريق تعويض الإنزيمات الهاضمة لتكسير الدهون والبروتينات والكربوهيدرات.
