Coversyl is een ACE-remmer. Het elimineert arteriële hypertensie door verstoring van de vorming van angiotensine 2 en het stoppen van de vernauwende impact op de arteriële bloedvaten. Bij langdurige behandeling herstelt het medicijn de elasticiteit van grote bloedvaten en neemt de hypertrofie van de linker hartkamer af. Bij hartfalen vermindert het geneesmiddel een myocardhypertrofie.
