Nexium reduce cantitatea de acid produsă în stomac. Este folosit pentru tratarea simptomelor bolii de reflux gastroesofagian (GERD) și a altor condiții care implică producția excesivă de acid gastric, cum ar fi sindromul Zollinger-Ellison. De asemenea, este folosit pentru a favoriza vindecarea esofagitei erozive (leziuni ale esofagului cauzate de acidul gastric). Poate fi administrat și pentru a preveni ulcerul gastric cauzat de infectarea cu Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) sau de utilizarea medicamentelor antiinflamatoare nesteroidiene (AINS).

ESOMEPRAZOLE prevents the production of acid in the stomach. It is used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), ulcers, certain bacteria in the stomach, and inflammation of the esophagus. It can also be used to prevent ulcers in patients taking medicines called NSAIDs.

They need to know if you have any of these conditions:
liver disease
an unusual or allergic reaction to esomeprazole, other medicines, foods, dyes, or preservatives
pregnant or trying to get pregnant
breast-feeding
